William Blair analyst Ryan Daniels believes ChatGPT applications are abound across all industries, including healthcare. Using ChatGPT can be used as a digital assistant for providers, with the technology extracting relevant information from medical records, grouping data in relevant categories, and enabling more efficient patient visits, the analyst tells investors in a research note. It can also assist in the preparation of notes to be incorporated into a patient’s electronic medical records, and be a solution to reduce the time spent working with payers to obtain pre-authorization for drugs and procedures or to provide letters to help appeal denied claims, the firm contends. Blair says Doximity is an early adopter of ChatGPT via docsGPT. However, regarding monetization efforts, the analyst believes “it is too nascent to have concrete use-cases yet.” Blair believes many of its covered healthcare technology and services companies will eventually benefit from integrating the solution into their product and service offerings.
