Coinbase Secures Crypto License In France

%Cryptocurrency exchange %Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN) has secured a license to operate in France as it pushes further into the European market.

The growth into France is part of Coinbase’s global expansion strategy that the company is calling “Go Deep, Go Broad” internally.

France’s securities regulator has granted Coinbase permission to operate digital currency services in that country.

This means that Coinbase can offer its full suite of cryptocurrency products and services within France.

Coinbase is also currently in discussions with regulators in Abu Dhabi about a potential operating license in that jurisdiction.

In Europe, Coinbase has also expanded into Italy and Spain over the past year.

The global expansion comes as Coinbase faces increasing regulatory pressure in its home market of the United States.

In 2023, Coinbase’s (Nasdaq: $COIN) stock has risen 400% to trade at $168.03 U.S. per share. The increase follows a sharp downturn in 2022 during a global bear market.
