Toyota shareholders voted to re-elect chair Akio Toyoda in spite of an ongoing safety testing scandal at the automaker, The Financial Times’ David Keohane reports. Toyoda won the support of shareholders even after proxy advisers ISS and Glass Lewis recommended a vote against him, saying they would hold him accountable for issues with vehicle testing and emissions data.
