ADP: Private Employment Increased 150,000 in June

Private sector employment increased by 150,000 jobs in June and
annual pay was up 4.9 percent year-over-year, according to the June ADP® National Employment ReportTM produced by the ADP Research Institute® in collaboration with the Stanford Digital Economy Lab (“Stanford Lab”). …

“Job growth has been solid, but not broad-based,” said Nela Richardson, chief economist, ADP. “Had it
not been for a rebound in hiring in leisure and hospitality, June would have been a downbeat month.”

This was below the consensus forecast of 170,000. The BLS report will be released Friday, and the consensus is for 180,000 non-farm payroll jobs added in June.
