Sony Music is in advanced discussions to buy the rights to music recorded by Pink Floyd for about $500M, The Financial Times’ Daniel Thomas and Anna Nicolaou report. Differences between band members have made reaching an agreement over the future of its music rights more difficult, according to several people close to the talks, but the band is now progressing with talks with Sony, two people say. There is no guarantee of an agreement this time given the past problems, says one person familiar with the talks.
