GreenHunter Energy, Inc. (GRH: Quote), a diversified water resource, waste management and environmental services company, reported a third-quarter net loss to common shareholders of $15.5 million or $0.52 per share, wider than $1.0 million or $0.04 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Operating loss for the current third quarter widened to $12.9 million from $686 thousand in the prior year quarter.
Total revenues for the latest quarter surged to $4.9 million from $230 thousand in the year-ago period. The significant increase in revenues was due to the strategic shift in the company’s business plan to its water management products and services business activities which were initiated in late 2011.
