German telecommunications company Freenet AG (FRAGF.PK) said Tuesday that it disposed of all its shares in freeXmedia GmbH, Hamburg, to Media Ventures GmbH.
freenet AG also said it sold its shares in 4Players GmbH, Hamburg, to Computec Media AG. Both transactions will be effective from year-end 2012.
The parties have agreed to keep the respective purchase prices confidential.
Founded in 2008 as the successor company to the ‘freenetMedia’ ad sales house, freeXmedia has around 50 employees at its Hamburg offices. In its online marketing activities, it concentrates on Automotive, Digital Entertainment, Sport and Active Living, the general-interest portal freenet.de, and Social Media.
The 4Players GmbH has approximately 30 employees in Hamburg and operates the managed-content gaming site ‘4players.de’ as well as the ‘4Netplayers’ server services and the ‘4Players League’. The company, founded in 2001, is a former holding of freenet.de AG, which in 2007 merged with mobilcom AG to become the present freenet AG.
