Czech retail sales decreased 1.8 percent in November from a year ago, the Czech Statistical Office showed Friday. Economists had forecast sales to remain flat in November after rising 2.2 percent in October.
The annual drop of sales was reflected in both the automotive segment and retail trade.
In November, sales in retail trade including the automotive segment after seasonal adjustment slipped 0.6 percent at constant prices from a month ago and working days adjusted sales dropped 3.5 percent annually.
Including sale of automotive fuel, retail sales decreased 0.6 percent on a monthly basis, and sales adjusted for working days advanced 2.4 percent.
