Larry the Cable Guy has signed on for the next Tyler Perry film, “Madea Christmas,” according to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter. In the film, Larry is cast as “the quirky patriarch of the white side of an interracial marriage.”
Larry joins a host of recently announced talent for the production including Chad Michael Murray, Tika Sumpter and Kathy Najimy.
The plot centers on Madea, who is coaxed into helping a friend pay her daughter a surprise visit in the country for Christmas. When they arrive the town is prepping their annual Christmas Carnival, an event which “prompts secrets to be revealed and old friendships test[ed].”
Perry is directing, adapting a play that he wrote, and producing alongside Ozzie Areu and Matt Moore. The flick will be distributed by Lionsgate.
