Las Vegas Sands (LVS) said to shop Pennsylvania casino for $1B

Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) shares are active Thursday afternoon amid reports that it might be shopping its Bethlehem, Penn., casino.

Sands might be seeking up to $1 billion for the location, Bloomberg reports. The casino is the second-largest in the state of Pennsylvania by gaming revs.

No deal is certain and the effort might be called off before any formal talks begin, sources cautioned.

The casino has a book value of $944 million, having delivered earnings of $109 million for the 12-months ended September 30, 2012. Sands generated 81 percent of revs in Macau and Singapore in the most recent quarter.

Casino sales outside of Las Vegas have gone for about 7.5 times EBITDA, according to Bloomberg-compiled data.

Sands shares are up about 0.3 percent.
