International business Machines Corp. (IBM: Quote) shares gained more than 4% in extended hours trading after the Armonk, New York-based technology giant reported forecast-beating fourth quarter results. The company also forecast full year 2013 earnings above analysts’ current consensus estimate.
Shares of Cree Inc. (CREE: Quote) surged more than 14% in late trading after the LED maker reported quarterly results above analysts’ estimate and forecast a higher-than-expected third quarter profit.
Intuitive Surgical Inc (ISRG: Quote) shares climbed more than 8% in after hours trading after the robotic surgical system maker reported a forecast-beating 16% rise in fourth quarter profit.
Shares of STR Holdings, Inc. (STRI: Quote) tumbled more than 23% in extended hours trading after the provider of high quality solar encapsulants to the photovoltaic module industry said its largest customer, First Solar, Inc. (FSLR) will terminate its relationship with the company in 2013. STR also said it has engaged UBS Investment Bank as its financial advisor to assist the Board of Directors with a review of the company’s strategic alternatives. Annie’s Inc. (BNNY: Quote) shares slumped more than 12% in late trading after the organic and natural food company said it has has initiated a voluntary recall of Annie’s Homegrown Frozen Pizza due to the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh caused by a faulty screen at a third-party flour mill.
