Simmons First National Corp. (SFNC: Quote) Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $8.0 million or $0.48 per share, compared to $6.3 million or $0.37 per share in the prior year period.
Core earnings, a non-GAAP measure, rose to $7.4 million or $0.44 per share from $6.3 million or $0.37 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, four analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.40 per share for the quarter. Analysts’ estimates typically exclude special items.
Net interest income for the quarter was $30.61 million, up from $27.30 million in the year-ago quarter, while total non-interest income rose to $14.7 million from $12.8 million in the prior-year quarter.
