Consumer Confidence Drops in the United States

US dollar lower in forex trading

Consumer confidence has dropped in the United States, and equities are mixed around the world today, but that isn’t leading to a stronger dollar as safe haven is sought.

Instead, the US dollar is lower today, dropping in forex trading on the currency market. The mixed nature of the economic news being reported today around the world, as well as speculation about a number of items, is leading to a little bit of confusion in the marktes.

For now, though, high beta currencies remain strong against the US dollar. The blow to the economic data in the United States is enough, right now, to weaken the greenback against other currencies.
