The White Stripes have confirmed plans to release a tenth anniversary edition of their hit album, Elephant. The LP will be reissued on limited edition vinyl through Jack White’s Third Man Records to coincide with Record Store Day on April 20.
The split color LP will boast black and red on side one and white on side 2. In an official statement, Third Man also confirmed “an MP3 download card, printed inner sleeves and [mastering] direct from the original analog source.” The disc will be “housed in a double pocket gatefold.”
White, who is also this year’s Record Store Day ambassador, spoke on the importance of the yearly event, telling NME:
“We need to reeducate ourselves about human interaction and the difference between downloading a track on a computer and talking to other people in person and getting turned onto music that you can hold in your hands and share with others.”
