Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades affirmed his commitment of staying in the 17-nation currency bloc, while assuring Cypriots that financial situation is well contained, reports said on Friday.
While speaking at a conference of civil servants in country’s capital Nicosia, Anastasiades said that he has no plan to abandon the euro and is not going to play with Cyprus’ future.
Anastasiades’ comments came a day after Cyprus reopened banks with strict capital controls in order to meet ECB bailout plan, which grants 10 billion euros to the country.
