Keith Alexander NSA Director outright blatantly LIES about 911
Keith Alexander “The intel community failed to connect the dots in 9/11. And much of what we’ve done since then were to give us the capabilities — and this is the business record FISA, what’s sometimes called Section 215 and the FAA 702 — two capabilities that help us connect the dots.”
The intel community DID connect the dots prior to 911.
Unsurprising given the massive amounts of intelligence there was in the months leading up to 911 that there was “an imminent major terrorist attack planned on US soil involving aircraft”.
There were at least 6 foreign intelligence and diplomatic specific warnings.
There was a whole host of intel.
The BI even had a laptop from one of the plotters (which they refused to let the French see).
George W Bush was fully briefed on this intelligence information on August 6th (and several other occasions) and did absolutely nothing.
He didn’t tighten airport security or increase the security of American airspace.
The alphabet soup agencies were told to lay off the multiple threads of investigations that were currently in progress.
The FBI were already tailing four of the hijackers.
As reported in the NY Times, the CIA’s counter terrorism unit were “apoplectic” that nothing was being done to stop the attack they knew was coming.
They wanted transfers out of the unit so that they could not be blamed for the attack happening.
The intelligence community had already done far more “than join the dots”.
They knew lots about the attack that was coming.
More details of the intelligence available before 911 is in here.
Keith Alexander is also blatantly lying that sections of the Patriot Act are required to thwart terrorist plots.
So far he has been able to cite ZERO examples of a terror plot that could not of been thwarted by obtaining a WARRANT after finding PROBABLE CAUSE.
That INCLUDES BOSTON.
Keith Alexander is digging an ever deeper hole for himself with ever more lies.
He should be fired immediately and at least charged with perjury for his multiple lies under oath before Congress.
