Could This Airline Stock be Poised to Pop?

In a market which has been trending higher almost every day in the month of April, many stocks which were damaged the most during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March are making moves out of oversold.

Companies of this nature include retailers, cruise lines, and in today’s case, airlines.

As more and more states make subtle hints of possibly opening their economies as soon as May 1, beaten down sectors in the market (i.e. airlines) are starting to find buyers, as indicated by the buying volume of the stock itself.

With that said, per financial analyst Stela Zarija of ESG Investing, Delta is ahead of its competitors with protocols and advanced safety measures in efforts to protect their passengers.

Delta’s advanced safety procedures include mandatory use of face masks, distribution of sanitizing products to customers, and even the exteriors of carry-on luggage both before and after takeoff.

I view Delta’s new and advanced safety measures as a positive stock catalyst as improved standards will mollify many customers who were initially reluctant to fly. This will ultimately reflect positively on bottom lines and please investors.

Now as you may know, I enjoy being able to make money in both green and red markets. After all, I’ve been doing it through the course of the COVID-19 pandemic on a regular basis.

You’ll notice Delta’s 20-day simple moving average line in green on the chart above. Should the trading trend above it, I’ll look to enter a bullish position and pay myself by the end of the day.

But if markets pull back and Delta sees a drop in share price, I can use Delta as a short candidate below its 20-day simple moving average line.

And just like that, my trading plan to profit in green or red markets is laid out for you in full. well ahead of today’s opening bell.
