Yesterday’s most interesting news in healthcare may have been rumors being spread that marijuana may help treat or prevent the coronavirus.
In fact, yesterday afternoon I noticed marijuana stocks receive multiple six-figure call option sweeps (see video lessons I’ve sent you). The pot stock bulls were out!
I took a quick look into “why” marijuana stocks were heating up so much, and made a quick move on one myself.
If marijuana proves to be effective in treating the Coronavirus, I expect stocks in this sector to soar, and based on what I saw yesterday, I believe financial professionals agree with my thesis!
Aurora Cannabis (NYSE: ACB) hasn’t received too much sentiment yet, but may very well follow the steps of its competitors in the Cannabis sector, which in yesterday’s case was likely financial institution buying.
Shown in yellow in the chart above, ACB is currently trading right above its 100-day simple moving average line, a critical support level in the hours and days ahead when considering trading ACB.
If buyers continue to buy millions of dollars worth of pot stocks, ACB is one to keep an eye on as it has yet to receive a buyer frenzy from the financial catalyst triggered by the possibility of marijuana assisting in Coronavirus treatment.
Now, let’s talk about selling the news. Should the news be disputed or discredited, as in marijuana is tested and proven ineffective in Coronavirus treatment, I expect pot stocks to plummet.
In that case, below ACB’s 100-day simple moving average line I’ll keep an eye on a possible short biased trade – and look to collect all available profits quickly.
