There’s Still A Severe Threat of New Cyberattacks

It’s only a matter of time before we’re hit with another massive cyberattack. Unfortunately, it’s no longer a question of if, but when. “The U.S. is currently not designed to act with the speed and agility necessary to defend the country in cyberspace. Our country has lost hundreds of billions of dollars to nation-state-sponsored intellectual property theft using cyber espionage,” as noted by the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, as quoted by Fox Business. Cities, hospitals, schools, government agencies are all vulnerable. As the world wakes up to the threat, some of the top companies to watch include Plurilock Security (TSXV:PLUR) (OTC:PLCKF), Palo Alto Networks (NYSE:PANW), Fortinet Inc. (NASDAQ:FTNT), Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ:CHKP), and Proofpoint Inc. (NASDAQ:PFPT).

Unfortunately, things could get far worse. According to Cybersecurity Ventures, “The total amount of data stored in the cloud could reach 100 zettabytes by 2025. About six billion people will be online by 2022 from five billion in 2020. By 2022, about a trillion networked sensors will be embedded all around us. By 2023, there will be more networked devices than humans on Earth.” All could expose us to even more cyberattacks.
