Capital One Financial (COF) is exploring a potential acquisition of Discover Financial Services (DFS), Liana Baker and Matthew Monks of Bloomberg report, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Capital One is working with advisers and has been holding talks with Discover about a deal, sources told Bloomberg. An announcement may come as soon as this week, the people said. Deliberations are ongoing and there’s no certainty they will lead to a transaction, they added.
