Major activity surrounded Alibaba (BABA) today as the stock jumped 4.5% to new highs of $288.50. The rally unfolded amid reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and China Vice Premier had constructive discussions concerning a Phase One trade deal, a positive development that reinforces the view that Alibaba will not fall like TikTok.
Interestingly, the eCommerce company saw a surge in traffic last week, according to TrackStarIQ rankings, and Alibaba is among the most-read tickers among financial advisors over the past thirty days. The ticker ranked 2nd in increased engagement and 12th in overall traffic.
